Our founding story is basically that infomercial where they say, “there’s got to be a better way.”
Annie, Claire, and Michael crossed paths working on campaigns and in government and found a shared desire to change the way campaigns are run.
Their vision? To trade silos for integration, jargon for values, and cookie-cutter playbooks for strategy built around authenticity.
And thus, MAC Group was born.
Claire Simonson
FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER
Claire Simonson has a real knack for political fundraising and donor relationships - the work a lot of people avoid. As a Finance Director and Executive Director, she's helped raise record-breaking money for candidates and causes across the country that plenty of people had already written off, and she brings that same sharp, strategic thinking to every plan she builds.
She lives in Denver with her husband, Aaron, and their dog, Quinn. When she’s not working (which isn’t very often) you can find her at a stand-up comedy show or watching something on Netflix and stressing that she doesn’t have more interesting hobbies.

Annie Orloff has run communications through the kind of pressure most consultants only talk about — Capitol Hill, the Colorado Secretary of State's Office as Director of Communications, then Deputy Chief of Staff, including the Tina Peters saga. She's built her career managing the story when the stakes are real, and the timeline is now.
Annie splits her time between Denver and Telluride with her husband, Ian, and rescue dog, Burley. Find her testing a new vegan recipe with Bravo on in the background.
Michael Whitehorn
FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER
Michael Whitehorn has spent his career setting direction for organizations under pressure. As Chief of Staff at the Colorado Department of State, he ran strategy, aligned teams,and managed budgets at scale and he brings that same read on political dynamics to every MAC Group client.
Michael lives in Denver with his wife, Jenny, their dog, Toni, and their two kids, Phoebe and Rory. He's a Clemson football fan who's happiest indoors.
